Obituary for Heward “Butch” Scott

Heward Lynn “Butch” Scott of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, in the Northwest Specialty Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 66 years.
Heward Lynn “Butch” Scott was born on July 20, 1948, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Richard Emmett and Thelma Eugene (Arthurs) Scott. He grew up in Braman and attended Braman Public Schools where he graduated in 1967. While in high school he participated on the football team and in the choir. He furthered his education by attending Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa for two years. He married Sherry Lynn Miller on July 10, 1968, in Blackwell where he worked for the Acme Foundry until the plant closed. He then began working in the oilfields for three years before working at the CFM Corporation where he worked until 2013 when he retired as a foreman. He was member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell. He enjoyed his many years of coyote hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Scott of Blackwell; and a sister, Sue Tipton of Braman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 12th in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Garrick Glass, Garth Glass, Jason Lenon and J. W. Brooks. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Don Leatherman, Randy McRae, Kenny Evans, David Ingram and Chester Pope.
A memorial has been established with Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
