Obituary for David Muret

David Glen Muret of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014, in the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 60 years.
David Glen Muret was born on December 2, 1953, in Blackwell to Wayne Franklin and Bessie June (Croft) Muret. He grew up in Blackwell and attended Prairie Chapel School before attending Blackwell Junior and Senior High School where he graduated in 1972. He furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee where he studied carpentry. Following his training he began working for Ed Urban Construction in Blackwell. He married Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Wirtz on March 23, 1974, in Blackwell and they settled on a farm east of town. In 1975 he began his own carpentry business where he specialized in cabinetry. He operated the company for thirty five years until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Prairie Chapel Methodist Church and the Silver Dollar City Traveling Craft Guild where he participated in the craftsman series in Branson. He also served on the Blackwell rural water board as well as being a board member for the American Red Cross Western Kay Chapter. He loved his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s many activities.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Muret of Blackwell; three sons, Dan Muret and wife Tonja of Celina, Texas, Brian Muret and wife Channa of Blackwell, and Kyle Muret and Jennifer Dault of Stillwater; a sister, Marsha Muret of Ponca City; two brothers, DeWayne Muret and wife Gayle, Dennis Muret and wife Shelley of Blackwell; and seven grandchildren, Harlie and Taylen Muret of Celina, Texas, Kendal, Tyler and Andrew Muret of Blackwell, and Madalynn Anstine and Kaleb Muret of Stillwater.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Doug Muret.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 21st in the Prairie Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Sharon Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Honorary casketbearers will be Lonnie Schmidt, Ron Boesch, Larry Sneath, Rich Johnson, Randy Post, Wade Lessert, Floyd Novotny, Dean Hall, Johnny Powelson and Larry Bennett.
A memorial has been established in his honor with the Prairie Chapel Methodist Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
