Richard Leon Dulinsky, Sr., age 86, resident of Ponca City, passed away August 25, 2014.

Graveside memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, September 19, 2014 in the Hope Chapel at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Father Dee Bright of Grace Episcopal Church officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be Adam Wear, Thomas Engle, Oliver Engle, Donovan Lunn, Jason Dulinsky, Michael Dulinsky, and Jeremy Dulinsky. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Richard was born on July 30, 1928 to Mount Charles Dulinsky, Sr. and Wilma Beatrice (McPherson) Dulinsky in Colony, Kansas. He was the second of four children. The family moved to Oklahoma when Richard was young. He attended school in Ponca City, beginning with Lincoln Elementary and finishing at Ponca City High School. After high school, Richard met his true love, Anna Marie Peters, on a blind date. They were married on January 21, 1949. Their marriage was the standard for devotion and dedication. They had three children; a daughter, Rickey, and two sons, Richard, Jr. and Jon. Richard loved Anna dearly and spent many years caring for her as her health declined. They celebrated 38 years together before Anna’s death. In 1991 Richard married long-time friend Betty Barnett. Richard and Betty spent their time traveling and visiting family and friends. He was again the faithful care-giver, tending to Betty during her illness with incredible compassion. A loyal employee of Southwestern Bell for 40 years, Richard began work for the company in 1948 as a lineman. At his retirement in 1998 he was employed as a repeaterman. Richard loved a good cigar and hunting for treasures at the local flea market. To describe him as charming would be an understatement. He was a force; a joyful, ornery man that would fill a room with his jovial presence. His spirt was generous and his smile infectious. He never knew a stranger, everyone was a friend. Richard was incredibly devoted to his family, often selflessly caring for their needs instead of his own. He considered his worth based the happiness he could bring to others and by that measure he was the most successful of us all.

Survivors include his daughter, Rickey Engle; sister, Pat Hand; 11 grandchildren; Donovan Lunn, Jason Dulinsky, Kimberly Stapleton, Tammy Stone, Olivia McNamara, Michael Dulinsky, Oliver Engle, Thomas Engle, Jeremy Dulinsky, Sarah Anna Dulinsky, and Hailey Engle and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; wives, brother, Mount Charles, Jr.; sister, Terry McClung; and sons.
