Denise Ward of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday night, August 10, 2014 in her residence at the age of 56.
Services are pending with Roberts and Son Funeral Home.Denise Ward of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday, August 10, 2014, at her home in Blackwell at the age of 56 years.
Denise Ward was born on June 7, 1958, in Stockton, California, to Robert and Patricia (Nelson) Pedigo. In 1971 she moved with her family to Tonkawa where she attended Tonkawa Public Schools. She married Arthur Eugene Ward Jr. on June 30, 1978, in Blackwell. In 1983 they moved to Perkins, Oklahoma, and returned to Blackwell in 1995. She worked for Southwest Cupid Corporation for over thirteen years. In 2003 she was preceded in death by her husband and she continued to make Blackwell her home. In 2010 she began working as a vault clerk for the Native Lights Casino in Newkirk. She attended the Baptist Church with her daughters. She enjoyed handcrafts, painting, cooking, her pets, working in the yard and watching car races. She also enjoyed making matching dresses for the holiday seasons and Halloween costumes for her girls. She loved her family, especially watching her grandchildren, nieces and nephews compete in various sporting activities. She was thoughtful of others and enjoyed making people happy.
She is survived by two daughters, Dreama Dawn Ward and fiancé Don Hollingsworth of Deridder, Louisiana, and Danielle Ann Ward of Ponca City; a son, Michael Morris of Maize, Kansas; her mother, Patricia Walker of Tonkawa; a brother, Stephen Pedigo of Tonkawa; and grandchildren, Rylee Hall of Deridder, Louisiana, and Derek Hall of Blackwell.
She was also preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Trista Denise Ward; a brother, Wayne Robert Pedigo; and her mother and father-in-law, Arthur and Wilma Ward.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 14th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell. Burial will be in the Braman Cemetery.
Honorary casketbearers will be Derek Hall, Rylee Hall, Christopher Lyons, Brandon Ward, Brandt Ward, Andrew Ward, Dustin Ward, MacKenzie Lyons, KaSandra Lyons and Stacee Ward.
