Obituary for Elizabeth Bergman

Elizabeth Marie Bergman of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday, June 16, 2014, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home at the age of 101 years.

Elizabeth Marie Bergman was born on December 11, 1912, in Eddy, Oklahoma, to Claus H. and Elsie (Eden) Bergman. She grew up in Eddy attending Osborne Rural School and Lamont Public Schools and graduated from Lamont High School in 1933. She joined the family farming operation in Grant County and continued in farming until 1980. In 1992 she moved to Tonkawa to make her home and later to Blackwell. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Deer Creek. She also held membership in the Alko Club and the Well Worth While Club of Deer Creek.

She is survived by a niece; six nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Albert, George and Charlie Bergman; a sister, Anna Brooks; and three nephews, Claus Bergman, Kenneth Bergman and Edwin Brooks.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19th in the New Home Cemetery in Eddy with Rev. Jeff Koch of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery.

Her nephews will serve as casketbearers.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the New Home Cemetery Association or Image Hospice in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
