Obituary for John Chanslor

John Bradley Chanslor, age 52, resident of Ponca City, passed away June 2, 2014 in Ponca City.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, June 6, 2014 in the Chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will then follow at the Round Grove Cemetery in rural Kay County. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

John was born on April 10, 1962 to Jimmie Lee and Patricia Louise Krider Chanslor in Ponca City. John married Sam Chanslor on May 27, 2000 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Hunting and fishing were activities John loved, he also tried hard to be good at golf. In his younger years, he was a skilled singer, performing in operas, musicals, and other stage productions. John served his country in the United States Air Force from 1982-1991 and was especially patriotic with an incredible love for this country. After leaving the Air Force, John worked for Albertson’s Distribution Center as a Warehouse Supervisor for several years in Ponca City and in Dallas.

He is survived by his wife, Sam Chanslor; children: Camille Wolfson and husband Wilby of Atlanta, Ga; Beau Chanslor of New Orleans, La; Austin Chanslor and wife Shannon of Atlanta, Ga.; Anna Chanslor of Colorado Springs, Co; Brandon Silver of Alamosa, Co; and Sara Silver of Checotah, Ok; siblings: Lynne Chanslor; Cheryl Chanslor; David Chanslor all of Ponca City; Mark Liegerot and wife Liliana of Ponca City; Cheri Rowland and husband David of Ponca City; and Alicia Liegerot of Ponca City. Grandchildren: Skylar, Aiden, and Arie Wolfson, and Brody Chanslor; aunts and uncles: John and Peggy Krider; Bill and Opal Chanslor; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents.

Casketbearers will be Tony Waggerman, Bill Doering, Jake Kincheloe, Mark Liegerot, Mark Gibson and Brandon Jackson.
