Obituary for Paul Dashner

Paul Lavon Dashner formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014, in the Andover Court Assisted Living Center in Andover, Kansas, at the age of 77 years.
Paul Lavon Dashner was born on June 30, 1936, in Atoka County, Oklahoma, to Forrest and Ethel (Gilbreath) Dashner. He grew up in Atoka attending Atoka Public Schools and graduated from Atoka High School in 1955. Following his education he entered the United States Navy where he served for twenty-one years as a chief petty officer. He married H. Maudlee Boyd on October 26, 1963, in Stringtown, Oklahoma. He retired from the military on June 13, 1978, and moved to Blackwell where he worked in Blackwell and Ponca City. He later moved to El Dorado, Kansas, where he worked for Butler County Community College before moving to Andover, Kansas. He was a member of the Hope Community Church in Andover.
He is survived by two sons, Paul “Mo” Dashner Jr. of El Dorado, Kansas and his wife Lori, and Wayne Dashner of El Dorado, Kansas; a brother, William Dashner of Las Vegas, Nevada; and two grandchildren, Ren Dashner and Makayla Dashner, both of El Dorado, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; an infant daughter, Michele Dashner; a sister, June Griffin; and a brother Brick Dashner.
A memorial service will be held at the Carlson Colonial Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16th in El Dorado, Kansas, with Rev. Tom Gaskill officiating. Graveside services will be held in the Blackwell Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16th with Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Military rites will be performed by the United States Navy.
