Obituary for Ruby Pitner

Ruby Allene Pitner, formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, April 24, 2014, in the Community Health Center, Wakita, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years.
Ruby Allene Pitner was born on June 9, 1928, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Frank and Madie (Louis) Casey. She grew up in Atoka County and attended Limestone Gap High School and Harleyville High School. She married Russo N. Pitner on August 14, 1948, in McAlester, Oklahoma, and they made their home in California. She moved to Winfield, Kansas in 1953 and later began working as a nurse’s aide for twenty years at the Darrah Nursing Home. In 1974 she moved to Nardin, Oklahoma and began working at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma in 1993 before moving to Wakita to make her home.
She is survived by one daughter, Angelia Dye of Walhalla, South Carolina; two sisters, Naomie Crawley of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Rosy George of Corcoran, California; one brother, Frank Casey of One City, Texas; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mary Baldwin and Dorothy Mote; and Pat Sisco and Vicki Redding.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Nardin, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill McKissick, First Assembly of God Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating.
A memorial in her honor has been established with the Wakita Community Health Center c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
