Obituary for Joan Waymire

Joann Waymire, 61, of Ponca City, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.

Joann was born on January 18, 1953 in Taylorville, IL to Joe and Anna (Witka) Ward. She moved to Ponca City in the mid 1970’s, loved to cook, do crosswords, read and enjoyed to take care of her houseplants and dogs. She also enjoyed taking trips back to Illinois to see family. She married Darrell Waymire on July 10, 1986 in Ponca City.

Joann is survived by her husband, son-Jeff Tolliver of Illinois, 2 sisters; Rose Mills of Williamsville, IL and Betty Fetterman of Augusta, Georgia. Brother-Ted Ward of Grove, OK. 1 grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2014 at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery of Fairfax, OK.

Services are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
