Obituary for Carolyn Levings

Carolyn Jo Levings of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday morning, March 12, 2014, in the Midwest Regional Medical Center in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years.
Carolyn Jo Levings was born on April 25, 1937, in Braman, Oklahoma, to Pleasant H. and Jeanie Agnes (Bretch) Haunschild. She grew up in Braman and attended Braman Public Schools graduating in 1955. While in high school she married Kenneth Stephen Levings on June 4, 1954, in Braman and they settled in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1957 they moved to Wichita, Kansas, for a year before returning to Blackwell. She later attended Pioneer Area Vo-Tech in Ponca City where she received her nursing degree. Upon completion of the program she began working for Dr. John Marks. She later worked in accounting at the auto parts store with her husband and retired in 1999. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Tonkawa and enjoyed singing in church. She was active in the Jaycee Jaynes and various Bible Study groups. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and feeding the birds. She also loved fishing, camping and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny Levings of Blackwell; two daughters, Cindy Tillman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Kelly Coffey of Blackwell; a sister, Janice Brewer of Blackwell; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 14th at the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Herb Berkley and Rev. Kelly Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Honorary casketbearers will be Ryan Coffey, Eric Nutt, Mark Brewer, Tate Coffey, Caden Coffey, Bailey Coffey and Brad Coffey.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her honor with Teen Challenge in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74361.
