Obituary for Darla Bright

Darla Louise Bright, 65, was born on July 31st, 1948, in Ponca City, Okla. She was the daughter of Donald Blubaugh and Betty Morris Jackson. Darla passed away peacefully after a brief struggle with cancer on March 9th, 2014 at her residence in Ponca City, surrounded by her loving family.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, West Junior High School, and graduated from Ponca City Senior High School in 1966.
She spent the last few years as a homemaker.
She enjoyed reading historical biographies, textbooks, and mysteries, cross-stitching, word/puzzle solving games, researching family genealogy, and the company of good friends and family. She will forever be remembered as a selfless, forgiving, and loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and a wonderful friend that would bring a smile and laugh to the face of all that knew her.
She is survived by three siblings, Vickie Friedel, Tina Jackson, and Brett Jackson all of Ponca City, OK. Son Jeff Backus and Wife Joline of Havelock NC daughter Kathy Wallace and husband Marty of Ark City, Kansas, son Mark Bright of Ponca City, As well as grandchildren Jacob Wallace, Kortney Wallace, Mark Adam Bright, Matthew Lloyd Bright, and Chase Backus. There are also many nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Lloyd Bright, grandmother Dolly Dixon, Mother Betty Jackson, father Donald Blubaugh, brother Tommy Blubaugh, and son Michael Bright precede her in death.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends at Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Park in Ponca City in care of Trout at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chase Backus, Jake Wallace, Derik Barber, Wayne Hazen, Allen Hazen, and Rowdy Barber.
