Obituary for Michael Osburn

Michael Dean Osburn of Edmond, Oklahoma, left for a better and understanding place on Friday, February 28, 2014, at the age of 43 years.
Michael Dean Osburn was born on August 9, 1970, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to David Owen and Louise Arnold Osburn. He attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1988. Following high school he furthered his education by attending Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. Mike worked for McDonalds, Wal-Mart and with his father at the service center in Blackwell. He later began a sales career working for Budweiser, Pepsi-Cola and Cain’s Coffee. Following a move to Edmond he began selling cars for Eskridge of Guthrie before working for Bob Moore Kia in Edmond. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blackwell.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Louise and Bill Rigdon of Blackwell; a brother, David Owen Osburn Jr. and wife Toni of Amarillo, Texas; nieces, Claire and Julia Osburn of Amarillo, Texas; step-brothers, Don Rigdon and wife Kerry of Douglasville, Georgia, and their two children, Dale Rigdon and wife Kamela; and their four sons of Henderson, Nevada, and Jim Rigdon and wife Kim of Blackwell; and a step-sister, Nell DeClercq of Clearwater, Florida, and her son, Matthew of Maryville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two nephews, Ryan Osburn and Quintin Day.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Rick Longcrier of Miami, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will be in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his honor with the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences Annual and Endowed Scholarships for Students in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
