Obituary for Bobbie Jean Young-True

Bobbie Jean Young-True, 81, went home to be with the Lord on September 25, 2013 at Ponca City Nursing Home.
Bobbie was born in Hohenwald, Tennessee on June 23, 1932 to John Will Hankins, Sr. and Bonnie Lucille Hankins. She grew up in Hohenwald, Tennessee until she married Calvin T. Young on August 25, 1950. Calvin came from Oklahoma through Tennessee working on a pipeline and met her in church. They settled in Cushing, Oklahoma where they raised a family of three children.
She attended cosmetology school in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and worked with Virginia Holleyman in Cushing, Oklahoma. When they moved to Tulsa she worked for Camelot Inn, Oaks County Club, and Models of Tulsa.
She was widowed in 1992 and later married Max True of Tulsa, Oklahoma in January of 1995.
She resided in Tulsa until she moved to Ponca City four years ago to be with her daughter, Sharon. She made several friends the short time she was in Ponca City Nursing Home. She didn’t let anyone pass her without a hug or an “I Love You!”
Bobbie is survived by her three children, Sharon Gayle Johnston and husband Phil of Ponca City, Angela Dianne Booker and husband Robbie of Tulsa, and Steve Young and his daughters Stevie Rae Terry and husband Shannon, and Traci Lynn Hamilton and husband Levi of Stillwater, and companion Lisa Mustang; grandchildren: Matt Johnston and wife Christy, children Steven and his wife Amanda and their son Aiden; Trent and Allee Johnston of Blackwell, Chris Johnston and his wife Sarah, their son Blake and daughter Jordyn of Wichita, and son Todd of Arkansas; Scott Johnston and his wife Kristina, and their daughter Mattie, and sons Zane and Klent of Ponca City; Sabrina Swisher and daughter Kelsey; Krislyn Newhart Booker and son Jackson; one brother Randy Hankins and his wife Tracy of Hohewald, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her mother and father; both her husbands; her sisters, Faye Roden, Maye Barber, and Billie McKnight; brothers, Brown Hankins, and J.W. Hankins, Jr.
The funeral service will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Schuyler of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 51st and Memorial in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers will be Matt Johnston, Chris Johnston, Scott Johnston, Steven Johnston, Trent Johnson, Levi Hamilton, and Shannon Terry.
