Velma Maxine Morris

Velma Maxine Morris, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 80 years of age.
Velma was born August 28, 1933 at Chandler, Oklahoma, the daughter of Allen Williams and Elva (Hecker) Williams. She attended the Enid and Shawnee schools. She was formerly employed as a caregiver in the Shawnee and Seminole area nursing homes. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. Her enjoyments included listening to gospel music.
She is survived by three children, Timothy Wayne Adams and wife Teresa, of Ponca City, Norma Jean Mullen and husband Mike, of Arkansas, and Carolyn Jett of Shawnee; 5 grandchildren and 11great grandchildren; numerous other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, George Adams and Charlie Morris; and several siblings.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jack Pease of Life Center presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
