OKC Dodgers top Zephyrs 5-3

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Matt West got Pedro Ciriaco to hit into a double play in the eighth inning, leading the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 5-3 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Sunday.

The double play came with runners on first and third and helped to prevent the Zephyrs from scoring in the inning.

With the game tied 2-2 in the fourth, New Orleans went out in front when Austin Nola hit an RBI double, driving in Carlos Corporan.

After tying the game in the sixth, the Dodgers took the lead for good in the seventh inning when Rob Segedin doubled to bring home Drew Maggi and Will Venable.

West (2-0) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Cody Ege (4-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.

For the Zephyrs, Nola doubled twice, driving home two runs. Corporan doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs.

With the win, Oklahoma City improved to 8-3 against New Orleans this season.
