Library shares programs for September and October

Fall is fast approaching and the Ponca City Library is offering programs for people of all ages to enjoy this season!

Sept. 1 – Origami 101 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. This free come-and-go program is for all ages to learn and practice origami.

Sept. 7 – Story time and craft at 10 to 11 a.m. for toddlers through preschool age.

Sept. 8 – Crockpot Meals – 6 p.m. Get tips for successful crockpot cooking and sample one crockpot dish at the Ponca City Library. This free program is presented by the OSU Kay County Extension Office. Registration required. Class limited to 30 participants. Sept. 14 – Story time and craft at 10 to 11 a.m. for toddlers through preschool age.

Sept. 15 – Mystery Book Club from 7 to 8 p.m.The book is Dear Daughter by Elizabeth Little. To register for the event, come by the reference desk at 515 East Grand Ave. and pick up a copy of the book. There are 10 books available.

Sept. 16 – Basics of Alzheimer’s and Caregiver Resources from 10 to 11 a.m. This free program is presented by the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative via video.

Sept. 17 – Brick Builders at the Ponca City Library from 1 to 2 p.m. Geared toward children and youth, this program works on block building skills.

Sept. 19 – Computers 101 and Using the Internet free computer class from 9 to 10 a.m. Registration is required. During this time, computer center will be closed to the general public. To register, please call (580) 767-0345 or visit the library computer center.

Sept. 19 – Mystery Book Club from 3 to 4 p.m. Book is Bad Monkey by Carl Hiassen. To register for the event, come by the reference desk at 515 East Grand Ave. and pick up a copy of the book. There are 10 books available.

Sept. 21 – Story time and craft at 10 to 11 a.m. for toddlers through preschool age.

Sept. 22 – Sewing Circle from 2 to 4 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m. Get tips and come together with like-minded crocheters, sewers, and knitters. Registration is requested to provide adequate supplies. To sign up, call (580) 767-0345, e-mail [email protected], or visit 515 East Grand Ave.

Sept. 26 – The Digital Library free computer class at the Ponca City Library from 9 to 10 a.m. Explore several of the library’s online resources including e-books, magazines, Rosetta Stone, and more. Registration is required. During this time, computer center will be closed to the general public. To register, please call (580) 767-0345 or visit the library computer center.

Sept. 27 – The Digital Library free computer class at the Ponca City Library from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Explore several of the library’s online resources including e-books, magazines, Rosetta Stone, and more. OCTOBER

Oct. 15 – Adult Murder Mystery from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Ponca City Library. Come in character and work with other players to solve a murder mystery. Pre-registration is required. To sign up, call (580) 767-0345, e-mail [email protected], or come by 515 East Grand Ave. Characters may be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. For ages 18 and older.
