Ponca City Now - August 11, 2016 10:25 am

Acclaimed, award-winning author Rae Meadows will autograph copies of her fourth novel, "I Will Send Rain," at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Brace Books, 2205 North 14th Street in Ponca City.

Meadows will make a brief presentation and answer questions before signing.

“I Will Send Rain” is a tenderly rendered story of a woman fighting for her family's survival in the early years of the Dust Bowl in Oklahoma.

For this book she did extensive research on the Oklahoma Panhandle during the Dust Bowl years. She was especially inspired by the photographer Dorothea Lange, who captured the pain and despair of the farm families in their plight.

For those who can't attend the book signing, a copy can be reserved by calling (580) 765-5173.

This will be an excellent gift for anyone interested in Oklahoma history.
