65th Annual 101 Wild West Rodeo June 6, 7 and 8 in Ponca City

The 65th Annual 101 Wild West Rodeo will be held Thursday, June 6, Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at the 101 Wild West Rodeo grounds at Prospect and Ash, bringing you the best of the best in professional rodeo athletics, hand picked to ensure a fantastic show.

There have been some updates made to the rodeo arena over the past few months thanks to a grant approved by the City of Ponca City in 2022.

New aluminum bleachers have been installed at the rodeo grounds and handicap accessible sidewalks, parking and ramps were added to make the 101 Wild West Rodeo more accessible to everyone.

Each night the rodeo grounds will come alive with the sound of live music as the stage is graced by a different headlining act. With a diverse lineup featuring some of the most popular country artists of today, you’re sure to find a performance that suits your taste.

He’s Bad to the Bone, One-Armed, and a good ole cowboy John Payne got his start in 1987 at the 101 Wild West Rodeo and 37 year later he’s coming back to Ponca City to entertain at this years Rodeo.

New this year for the first time at the 101 Wild West Rodeo… the SHARK CAGE. Just before the Bull Riding the Shark Cage will enter the 101 Arena and then a few lucky people will get a seat inside to have a real “insiders look” into the Bull Riding.

Thursday, June 6 – Community Appreciation Night and Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night.

Donations will be made for every pink shirt worn on Thursday night to breast cancer research.

Friday, June 7 – First Responders Appreciation Night

 

• 101 Wild West Rodeo Golf Tournament at the Ponca City Country Club at 9:00 am
• PRCA Performance at 8:00 pm
• Concert featuring Pryor Baird at 10:00 pm

 

Saturday, June 8 – Military Appreciation Night

 

• PRCA Steer Roping at 8:30 am
• 101 Wild West Rodeo Parade – Downtown Ponca City at 10:00 am with Parade Marshall The One Armed Bandit John Payne-10am
• Kids Rodeo at Ponca City Library, 515 E. Grand after the Parade with games
• PRCA Performance at 8:00 pm
• Concert featuring Little Texas at 10:00 pm

Enjoy Mutton Busting with 10 riders age 4-6 each night with proceeds supporting the Northern Oklahoma Youth Ranch Rodeo Association.
