OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The U.S. Geological Survey has reported a 4.1 magnitude earthquake in central Oklahoma.
The agency recorded the tremor Monday evening about 5 miles west of Langston. It was recorded at a depth of 2.4 miles.
Similar sized earthquakes can be felt more than 60 miles from the source and can cause minor damage.
The Oklahoma Geological Survey said earlier this week it is "very likely" that most of the state’s recent earthquakes were triggered by the subsurface injection of wastewater from oil and natural gas drilling operations.
