Wildcats Basketball Working to Improve

Tina Christian - December 4, 2019 10:20 pm

Wildcats Basketball head to Cleveland for the Cleveland Tournament starting Thursday. First round they face Elk City at 8:30 pm. They did play Sand Springs last week on their court, losing 75-64.

Coach Ivan McFarlin shared, “I thought that our first game was obviously not the result that we wanted to have but I felt that the boys never stopped fighting and made the end result more reasonable. We let the little things affect us in the game such as not boxing out, finishing inside buckets and turning the ball over. We will continue to get better and improve as a team for our first tournament this basketball season. As for the Cleveland Tournament, I feel that this is a good test for our boys to have some redemption and put everything together as a team. We have worked hard in practice and I have challenged them in practice to correct the mistakes that we make in our game. We have a really good test against Elk City Thursday night at 8:30pm. They are very good on defense and make you work for everything. Our boys know that nothing is easy and they have to work hard every time they play. We are looking forward to the support we will have in Cleveland and also wish Coach Fincher and his girls good luck at the Bixby Tournament. Let’s get to work!! No Complaints around here!!!”
