Winter Weather Advisory issued

Ponca City Now - November 11, 2019 9:22 am

Paula Cain, Ponca City’s Emergency Management Director, said a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued until 3 p.m. Monday that includes Kay County.

“This is due to the precipitation that continues and may last longer than expected,” Cain said. “It’s unlikely that our roads will be impacted — it was just too warm this weekend.  But bridges and overpasses could get slick so use caution while driving.  The high temperature will reach 29° but the wind chill temperature will likely not reach 20° today.  Low tonight down to 15° but wind will decrease.  Tuesday morning will be even colder.”

Tuesday’s high is expected to be 36° and it will warm back into the 50s the rest of the week, including the weekend.

“Mother Nature just  reminding us of what she can do,” Cain said.
