From the Ponca City Police Department

At 12:24 Thursday afternoon staff notified the Communications Center that two gunshot victims had arrived at the Emergency Room. A 26 year old male and a 30 year old female sustained minor cuts when they were shot with what is believed to be a pellet gun.

The pair told investigating officers that they were traveling in the area of 14th street and Otoe Avenue in their 2003 model Jeep when they stopped to pick up a man that they both knew. This man, just after he sat in the back seat, shot each of them one time. The man exited the vehicle and ran from the area. The pair drove to the hospital seeking treatment.

This incident is still under investigation.
