The Ponca City Police Department will participate in the National Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, on the west drive of the Public Safety Center, 200 East Oklahoma Avenue.
The goal of this program is to provide a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of outdated, unwanted or unused prescription medication. Medicines in the home are the leading cause of accidental poisoning. Trashed or flushed medications can end up polluting our waters. And rates of prescription drug abuse continue to rise.
The Drug Take Back Day is a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration program that the Ponca City Police Department participates in annually.
