16-year-old Sentenced for Drive-by Shooting

A 16-year-old was sentenced to over 50 years in prison by a Tulsa County Judge.

Noah Ney, 16, was sentenced on October 23 for all ten charges against him, including firearm possession, shooting with intent to kill, and drug possession.

Ney was arrested in 2022 for a drive-by shooting that Ney testified was supposed to be an initiation into a gang.

According to court documents, testimony established that a 5-year-old girl was shot by Ney. She was struck in the neck and left shoulder.

Ney’s sentencing was decided in part by evidence and witness testimony of past behavior.

The teenager made headlines again when he escaped the Juvenile Detention Center in August. Tulsa County deputies and Tulsa police were able to place him back into custody days later.

Ney is eligible for a judicial review hearing in five years, which could result in a decrease in sentencing.
