1 killed during police pursuit in Seminole County

SEMINOLE, Okla. (AP) – Authorities say one person was killed during a police pursuit in Seminole County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the incident happened early Sunday on Seminole County Road EW 119. A preliminary report says a police officer had been chasing a vehicle for several miles when the vehicle lost control and rolled several times.

Authorities say the driver was thrown from the car and was run over by the police vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The highway patrol says two other occupants of the car ran from the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the person killed or the name of the law enforcement agency involved in the chase.
